Bringing Menstrual Health Awareness Closer to Every Community
Project ROSHNI is Kashmiriyat Foundation’s community-based menstrual health and hygiene initiative, created to reach women and girls who are often left behind by conventional awareness programmes.
The project focuses on out-of-school adolescent girls, married women, homemakers, and women from rural and underserved communities by providing menstrual health education, interactive awareness sessions, one-to-one counselling, and reusable cloth menstrual pads.
Through knowledge, dignity, and access to sustainable menstrual hygiene solutions, Project ROSHNI aims to build healthier, more confident, and empowered communities across Jammu & Kashmir.
Taking Awareness Beyond Classrooms
Project ROSHNI reaches women and girls in rural, remote, and underserved communities by bringing menstrual health education directly to the places where it is needed most.
Identify Communities
We identify underserved communities through local networks, volunteers, schools, and referrals from individuals who connect us with areas in need.
Reach Remote Areas
Our team travels to rural villages, border areas, and far-flung communities to ensure that women and girls have access to essential health education.
Conduct Awareness Sessions
Through interactive discussions and one-to-one guidance, participants learn about menstrual health, hygiene, reproductive health, and safe practices.
Distribute Reusable Cloth Pads
Women and girls receive reusable cloth menstrual pads, helping them manage their periods safely, comfortably, and with dignity.
Engage the Community
We encourage open conversations with families and local communities to break myths, reduce stigma, and promote lasting behavioural change.
